Me and my partner started out by each creating five lure designs that could be cut out on the laser. We used illustrator to make these designs. We each also created a lure that could be created by using the mill. After we had our lures ready for the laser we proceeded to use discarded plastic to cut them out. After they were cut out we used recycled cans for a reflective material on the outside of the lures. Next we had to move our lures that were going to be cut out on the mill into fusion 360. There, we added a valid tool path and saved the g-code onto a flash drive. Then we moved that to the CNC Mill where we had glued together two pieces of plastic and cut out our objects with it.
This project made me realize how much opportunity we have and freedom for projects in the innovation center. We are young adolescents using cutting edge technology to improve our our understandings of basic programs in this field. It was a very interesting experience to be able to create our own objects with no guidance and I learned how incredible the innovation center is.
